Although the state assures that there will be no increase in taxes, it expects tax revenues to increase by 17 billion euros next year.
The bill will be enough to catch taxpayers by surprise. According to documents published on Tuesday, taxes will bring in almost 350 billion euros to the state coffers in 2024, roughly 17 billion more than in 2023. In comparison, tax revenues must increase from 330 billion in 2022 to 332 billion in 2023, an increase of “only” 2 billion. The jump expected for next year thus reflects the refrain of the government, which has vowed for months not to raise taxes…
