Carcassonne: a young swimmer who shines in French pools

Nader El Béchari joined the Olympic complex of Angers to take part in the French “Elite” championship in the 25 meter pool held at the end of October. He is the only representative of the department at this level. Although he did not win his races, he showed great determination by finishing among the best French swimmers over 50 meters.

He first qualified for the preseason meetings. Nader El Béchari, swimmer of the Carcassonne Nautical Club, broke through with his participation in the French “Elite” championship in the 25 meter pool, held at the end of October in Angers. He was the only Aude to compete at this level.

Nader is a pure sprinter and qualified for the occasion in the 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke. The 50 meter butterfly is his first race, he had a great race with an excellent time of 24’98. This is a new personal record broken on a short track, but unfortunately it does not allow him to reach the final. Next, he will compete in his favorite race, the 50 meter backstroke. Full of confidence after the race a day earlier and very motivated, he achieved a very good performance and another personal best in a time of 28”12. He qualified for the B final with the twelfth overall time. In the afternoon, despite a minor corner error, he maintained his place with a fourth-place finish in the B final in 28”20, a slight disappointment for Nader and his coach. These championships will continue to be successful since he first entered
in the top 15 best French 50m swimmers.
